Homemade Halloween Cookies!

A couple of weeks ago I was looking for another dessert to add to my son, Isaac's homemade lunchables that I've been making and freezing in large quantities. It really does make mornings easier and I only have to make them about once a month. If you would like for me to write a blog post on the lunchables that I make for Isaac please leave a comment below. So, I was looking for something new to make and I thought about sugar cookies and how different they can be by just changing how they are decorated. I had never made sugar cookies before and I decided since it was my first time anyways that I would make them from scratch with homemade icing too! I had a lot of fun making them, Isaac had fun helping with the decorating and they really are so yummy!

A Crochet Mandala Inspired By Wink

I crocheted my first ever mandala!!! And I have to say they are a lot of fun and turn out so beautiful. I love the way you can use color, cable stitches, overlapping techniques and/or more, in just a circle to create something so amazing.

My Cotton Candy Shawl

Last summer I crocheted my mom a shawl for her birthday and ever since then I have wanted a shawl of my very own. So when I found out that one of my local craft stores was having a sale on yarn I decided to buy enough white wool yarn to dye and crochet into a shawl.

The Celestial Elfy Earflap Hat And Free Pattern!

Last fall I won some beautiful sock weight yarn from Celestial Strings and I decided to turn one of the oh so soft skeins into a Christmas present for my son, Isaac. I knew he would love the dark greenish-blue tweed and I had recently seen some elf hats with earflaps that I thought he would look so handsome in. For the free pattern scroll down

How I Dyed Yarn With Kool-Aid And Loved It!

I had been wanting to dye yarn with kool-aid for a while now so when one of the local craft shops had a sell on yarn I decided to buy 4 skeins of wool yarn to dye. I knew that I wanted to dye the yarn in a gradient from pink to blue to crochet into a shawl. I was so excited that I couldn’t wait to get started!

A Yarn Swift Winding Tutorial

Last fall I won some gorgeous yarn from Celestial Strings and it came in the beautifully twisted hanks that still need to be wound. I ordered a yarn winder and I used Sean (my boyfriend) as a swift to wind one of the hanks so that I could use it for a Christmas present. The other hanks have been patiently waiting to be wound. For Christmas my dad got me a yarn swift so, a few days later I decided to wind the hanks for a future project. Scroll down for the picture tutorial on how to wind yarn with a yarn swift and winder or click here for the video tutorial.
