Yesterday was Easter. As I was growing up, my Granny always had a family get together on Easter and she would always make a yummy, delicious coconut cake that she would decorate to look like a bunny. Sadly, my Granny doesn't have those family get togethers anymore, but my sister was coming over with my nephew and we planned on playing games and having fun. I was craving that coconut cake so bad yesterday that I decided to make my own version and it turned out so good! Scroll down for the written recipe and instructions.

Hello! Hello! It's spring and Easter is coming up so stores have all kinds of Easter stuff out right now. I decided to take advantage of that fact and pick up some Easter Egg kits to dye some yarn! I have dyed yarn with Kool-Aid, with a Tie Dye kit, Wilton's food coloring, I've even experimented with dying yarn with plants but I've never dyed yarn with an Easter Egg dye kit, so I thought it would be a lot of fun to try! Magnesium Oil is wonderful to use and easy to make! I've been making plain magnesium oil for years and everyone in my family loves it, including my nephews. I have been using it for headaches, sore muscles, and to help with sleep. My son loves to dab some magnesium oil on his temples and his toes before bed. I also love to use it before bed to help with sleep and when I get headaches, migraines, and neck aches. I squirt some oil onto my fingers and rub it into my temples, forehead, neck, anywhere I am sore. Normally, within 20 minutes, I can feel a definite difference in the soreness of muscles or it can help a headache ease off enough to not turn into a horrible migraine.

Hello! Sean's birthday was last week but we were sick with colds so we celebrated his birthday last night. We had a small family birthday celebration and it was so nice and fun. I asked Sean what kind of cake he would like for me to bake this year and he asked for a Chocolate St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake. I had never heard of this kind of cake before so I looked for recipes online.

Hello! Color changing in crochet is fun and beautiful but at times it can get quite tricky. The yarn can get tangled and it can get frustrating to drop and pick up yarn constantly. Some people can hold multiple strands of yarn in their fingers while crocheting or knitting, but I can not so I really love yarn guides. It's my new favorite thing! Well, atleast one of them.

Hello! There are several different ways to decrease with single crochets. My favorite way is the invisible single crochet decrease because it really is invisible like the name suggests! I love using this technique with amigurumi (crochet dolls) especially, but it can also be useful with many other kinds of crochet projects. Scroll down for the video tutorial.

Yarn puff balls or pom poms are very popular on hats and as embellishments for crochet/knit/everyday projects but finding a puff ball/pom pom maker isn't always so easy. I even own a few and it seems that every time that I need one, I can't find one. This is how I make a yarn puff ball when I can't find my puff ball makers. I think it's pretty easy and fun and I hope ya'll like this picture tutorial!

Hello! I remember when I first started crocheting, about 4 years ago now, and I thought that I would NEVER learn how to read a crochet pattern. I would look at a pattern and think, "How does anyone read these?" They looked like they did not make any sense to me at all! But as time went on, I learned more about crochet and the patterns started to make sense. Now, I can speak fluently in the language of crochet patterns and I'm going to try my best to break it down and have it make sense for ya'll. Hello! It snowed in North Carolina last Friday and Saturday! We got about 8 inches in total. I thought it was so beautiful coming down, but by the next morning it looked like a magical white kingdom out of a fairy tale! So pretty! I'm just a little sad that I've been feeling really sick lately with a cold so I didn't get to get out much in it and take as many pictures as I wanted to but Saturday evening we did get to go out and walk around in the snow before it turned dark.
