Puppy Measuring Tape Cover Free Pattern!

Hello! This is Z The Puppy! He is such a sleepy puppy and needs his Zzzzzzz. I love his big nose and ears. He is a cute little puppy and the measuring tape is his "tongue". I think Z is a cute little measuring tape cover and he is quick and uses very little yarn. Scroll down for the free pattern.

The Pattern
Worked in a spiral using a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

The Head (make 2)
with white:

R1: Make a loose slip knot and ch 1. Put 6 sc into the loose slip knot. Pull on the tail end to close the hole. =6
R2: 2sc into each stitch around. =12
R3: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next stitch. Repeat from the star around. =18
R4: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 2 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =24
R5: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 3 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =30
R6: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 4 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =36
R7: *2sc into the next stitch, sc into the next 5 stitches. Repeat from the star around. =42
Cut the yarn and weave in the ends, but leave one tail long enough to sew the 2 bodies together.

The Ears (make 2)
with gray:

R1: Make a loose slip knot (will work into later) and ch 9. =10
R2: Put a sl st into the 2nd ch from the hook. Put a sl st into the next 3 ch, sc into the next ch, hdc into the next ch, dc into the next 2 ch. Put 5 dc, ch 1, tc, 5 dc into the loose slip knot. Now working back down the opposite side of the chain, dc into the next 2, hdc into the next, sc into the next, sl st into the next 4. Cut the yarn, weave in the ends and sew to the right side on one of the heads.

The Nose
with black:

R1: Make a loose slip knot and ch 2. Put 10 hdc into the loose slip knot. Pull on the tail end to close the hole. Cut the yarn, weave in and sew to the right side of one of the heads.

Sandwich the two heads with the measuring tape between. Sew the two heads together leaving a small opening for the measuring tape tongue to come out of. Embroider sleepy eyes and a mouth.

The End!
