Piper's Fall Scarf Free Crochet Pattern!

Hello! Today is my one year anniversary for starting With Alex and to celebrate I'm sharing a new free pattern and next week I will have a video tutorial for it! For those of you that do not remember or are new to following me, I was "Crocheting Thru Chronic Diseases With Alex" for a few years before I shortened it and changed my channel, blog, website, etc a little and expanded.
It's still me but I share more of what I make, not just crochet. I can't believe it's been a whole year! I've published tons of crochet patterns, videos, blog posts, and some recipes. I made my first ever, funny skit video. I even had one of my patterns, the Rainy Spring Beanie, featured in Happily Hooked Magazine and it made the cover as well! It's been a great year and I'm ready for another wonderful year of sharing even more of my creativity with ya'll! I've had a lot of fun, thank you all for following and encouraging me! I love you all!

I am so excited to share this pattern with ya'll! I was going to wait until I had the video tutorial ready but when I noticed it was my one year anniversary today, I had to do something special for today, so here is the free pattern and the video tutorial will be on my channel, next week! I designed this scarf for my younger sister, Piper for her birthday a couple of years ago and I'm calling it Piper's Fall Scarf. I used a yarn that I dyed myself and since then I've been waiting for the perfect yarn to try my pattern out with. When I saw Lion Brand's Mandala yarn I knew that it would be absolutely perfect for this project and I was right! I loved working with the Mandala yarn. It's a light 3 weight yarn, very soft and the colors are magnificent. I enjoyed making one scarf in the colorway, Gnome and now I'm making another one in the colorway, Spirit and I'm enjoying making this scarf as much as the one in Gnome. For my first impression of Lion Brand's Mandala yarn, click here!

If you want to see how my second scarf is coming along, follow me on facebook and instagram to see how it turns out!

Piper's Fall Scarf is about 10 feet long if you use all of the Mandala yarn. I love mine that long and I love turning mine into an infinity scarf but you could leave it open as well. The first one that I made for Piper was left open. It's also fun to wear because you can loop is as little or as much as you like to go with whatever outfit you are wearing. I think this pattern is beautiful and with some colors, the pattern resembles leaves and with other colors the pattern resembles rain drops. I love it and I think it's a fun scarf to make and I can't wait to wear mine this fall and winter!
