Hello! I have one more pom pom headband for ya'll and I'm so excited to share it! The other day I was watching one of my favorite youtubers, Roxxsaurus. I love watching Roxi because she makes interesting videos and she looks so much like my little sister. Anyways, I was watching her newest makeup tutorial on how to be a Cheshire Cat and I was inspired by her to make this pom pom Cheshire Cat Headband with hair and I absolutely love how it turned out! I loved it so much that I had to try to do my makeup like Roxi too and it was a lot of fun! I hope ya'll love this video tutorial!
Pom Pom Cheshire Cat Headband
Materials
-Worsted weight yarn in pink and purple (Red Heart Super Saver)
-2 Headbands (do not need to be the same color)
-Scissors
-Measuring Tape
-Large pom pom maker
-Hot glue
-Glue gun
Directions
Open 1 side of the pom pom maker and wrap the purple yarn around about 25 times. Slide the purple yarn over. Do not cut the purple yarn and now take the pink yarn and wrap it right next to the purple yarn, about 25 times. Slide the pink yarn over. Now you can cut the purple yarn and wrap it next to the pink yarn about 25 times. Slide the purple yarn over. Cut the pink yarn and wrap it next to the purple yarn about 25 times. Slide the pink yarn over. Cut the purple yarn and wrap it next to the pink yarn, 25 times. Slide the purple yarn over. Cut the pink yarn and wrap it next to the purple yarn 25 times. Slide the pink yarn over. Cut the purple yarn and wrap it next to the pink yarn 25 times. Cut the pink and purple yarn ends.
Close the pom pom maker.
Open the other side of the pom pom maker and repeat wrapping the yarn like the other side but instead of wrapping each color 25 times, wrap each color 5 times each.
Close the pom pom maker.
Cut a piece of yarn.
Place the scissors in the gap around the pom pom maker and cut the yarn all the way around.
Take the cut piece of yarn and slide it in the gap all the way around the pom pom maker and tie it tightly on the side that has less yarn. (This will be the bottom and since there is less yarn it will be easier to make it flat.)
Open the pom pom maker and slide the pom pom out.
Take scissors and trim the bottom flat, the sides up to a point and then trim the front and back flat. (You can leave it as shaggy as you would like.)
Make another pom pom Cheshire Cat ear.
(One headband will be the front and one will be the back.) Take one headband and start on the front piece. Cut strands of yarn 18 inches long.
Take 3 strands of yarn at a time and knot them on along the headband. (I took purple yarn and made highlight strands for the bangs. This will mark my part also.) In total, I had 17 groups of pink yarn strands and 3 groups of purple yarn strands. You can use more or less yarn and you can make the strands longer or shorter if you would like.
Take the other headband and repeat the process for the front piece but instead of having 2 purple groups of strands together, I spaced them evenly apart throughout. Again I had 17 groups of pink yarn strands and 3 groups of purple yarn strands, but you can use more or less yarn.
Cut the ties off the bottom of the cat ears if you have not done so already.
Spread open the bottom of the pom pom and squirt in some hot glue. Press firmly to the headband.
Attach the other ear.
Add 1 more group of pink yarn strands right under each ear. (This will cover the gap under the cat ears.)
Trim the hair if needed.
The End!
To wear the Cheshire Cat headband:
Put the back headband on first and then put the front headband on and fix the part around your face.
